On the afternoon of March 30, the Green Plum School Drama Festival of Senior Two of CFLS was held in the multifunctional lecture hall. We have a feast to present wonderful cultural activities! Vice Principal Yang Zhongshan, Vice Principal Zhang Lianfeng, Vice Principal Lou Shuang, leaders and teachers from Changbai Mountain No. 2 Senior High School and Changbai Mountain Experimental High School of Northeast Normal University, the seventh batch of training teachers from Xigaze Region of Xizang, some office directors of the school, all teachers and students of Senior Two watched the performance.

　　The event was hosted by CFLS, the student affairs office,  high school language teaching, and a research group to undertake. The activity design based on textbooks helps students understand the textbook's "unit" of drama, and deepen the understanding of Chinese social change and development.

　　The logo of this drama festival was designed by Su Zi`ang from Class 5, Senior 2, in collaboration with the "Shuey Rhon Rhon" design team for the Winter Olympics. Blue comes from the indigo plant but is bluer than the plant itself, meaning the background color of youth, full of young people's vigor, a symbol of strength, hope, simplicity, and solemn. Plum blossom fragrance comes from the bitter cold, symbolizing noble, steadfastness, modesty, and elegance. April is the season of green plums, from flowers to fruits, meaning reproduction and inheritance, green plums accompany us, and witness the growth of the School Drama Festival.

　　Before the formal performance, Vice Principal Yang Zhongshan inaugurated the festival, marking the official opening of the "Plum" Festival. China's old society of the myriad, the fickleness of the world will be presented in today's wonderful performance, the drama is about to be staged!

　　The moment the lights lit up, the actor's actions and subtle expressions affected everyone's heart. The audience was afraid to breathe loudly, afraid to speak loudly for fear of interrupting their story. Superb acting truly restores the contradictions between the eight distinct characters, the ultimate display of Zhou and Lu's two families, in a day involved in the span of two generations, thirty years of bitter entanglements. We are shocked by the tension of the actors when the conflict erupts, but we do not know the effort behind the stage. The cast of "Thunderstorm" from the very beginning of the audition recruitment, script arrangement, makeup, and setting, have integrated their understanding and innovation. The cast communicated with the director and teachers many times so that the lines not only stayed on paper but also became a bridge of emotional communication among the actors, actresses, and the audience. They rely on their diligence and strong strength,  leaving an indelible memory for everyone.

　　In the interval of the performance, the host Dai Yifan specially interviewed the Chinese teacher Jiang Changqing, once again for everyone to understand the significance of this drama festival. She mentioned: "The tragedy of Thunderstorm often causes people's deep sadness, and inspires us to adhere to conscience, pursue morality, and better understand social life; Teahouse is a mirror reflecting the twists and turns of the society at that time, through which we explore the national psychology and spirit of The Times." Through the students' rehearsals, the course will be activity-oriented, to truly achieve "real value", "real experience".

　　The students are ushered into a Beijing time-honored teahouse as the curtain rises. The lines of the characters are vivid and humorous, naturally forming dramatic conflicts, showing the contradictions between the characters and The Times, orderly and relaxed. "Teahouse" cast members with a wonderful rendition of the characteristics of The Times, and each character's personality, action, and psychological performance is incisive. The cast members treated every rehearsal as a formal performance. From understanding and controlling the social background to the selection of intonation and props. They performed with love so that the characters were perfectly presented in front of the audience. Daily life in Beijing shows the city and the social style of the old days. The changes in the small teahouse allude to the dark, corrupt, and grotesque of the old era.

　　The interpretation of the drama has come to an end. The actors bow three times to say goodbye to their roles and express their best thanks for their efforts. The 5-minute blooper reel covers the young acting skills at the beginning of the activity, the continuous improvement of rehearsal moments, as well as the daily routine of the crew, but only personal participation, can witness the growth process from nothing to something, from something to fine. After the performance, the leaders, guests, and teachers selected the most outstanding actors and actresses in their minds.

　　After more than a month of preparation, the festival is coming to an end. Every teacher and behind-the-scenes staff who participated in the performance made a great contribution. Based on the principle of the full experience and immersive learning, from planning to performance, we are mainly divided into the director group, drama makeup group, publicity group, stage design group, and design group. Each member, with each of their duties, meticulously, attentively complete each task. I would also like to thank all departments of the school for their help, the diligence of the teachers, and the enthusiastic participation of all the students in Senior Two.

　　Shakespeare once said, "As long as there has been theatre, its purpose has always been to reflect life, to show good and evil as they are, to show its time the model of its evolutionary development." Through "Thunderstorm" and "Teahouse", we can see the feudalism and depravity of the old era behind them. Under each vivid interpretation, the flesh-and-blood characters are an indictment of China's old society. As the youth of today's society, we should face difficulties and be firm, confident, and self-reliant. The Times gives us the right to choose the ideal life, we should return to The Times, to the society, to contribute to the prosperity of the motherland.
