From July 26 to 31, the Jilin provincial team, composed of Changchun Foreign Languages School (CFLS) and the High School Attached to Northeast Normal University (HSANNU), participated in the national finals of the 2019 National English proficiency Competition for Middle School students (NEPCS) held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. The seven contestants of our school are outstanding English students who have been selected by the school and the whole province, demonstrating the excellent English ability of the students of Changchun Foreign Languages School (CFLS).

　　The competition of the finals is extemporaneous speech, with contestants taking the topic on the spot. The preparation time is 15 minutes and speech time is 5 minutes. This kind of competition tests the students' English comprehensive ability, flexibility and competence of contingence.

　　After five days of fierce competition, Fan Shurui won the first prize in the final of the speech contest, Shen Xiaoyan won the first prize in the final of the speech contest, and Zhai Weifan won the second prize. Li Sijia, Liu Wanting, Xu Ke and Pan Guanbo won the third prize; Pan Guanbo presided over the final of the speech contest and was awarded an excellent host. The Jilin student debate team, which is composed of the students of CFLS and HSANNU, won the second prize in the National Senior High School Group.

　　The 5-day summer camp is over, and the students come back with a full load after hard work. I hope the students of Changchun Foreign Languages School will keep up their efforts and create resplendence!
